La-Sportiva have been making footware in Italy for over 100 years! (and you thought Walsh had heratage) However this is there first foray into the fell shoe market proper. Having sucessfully sponsored and produced shoes for european sky running race teams, La Sportiva finally turned there attention to a shoe that would perform well in UK conditions. The main thing about this shoe is the fit. It makes the fit on most other fell running shoes feel antiquated! This is becasue they have been making shoe lasts for donkeys years and have refined a superb running last. If you want a comfortable pair of fell shoes with a bit more cushioning these are the way forward! For a first attempt the fell stud pattern is suprisingly good. They have given the stud enough depth and aggressiveness to be reasonably grippy on most surfaces, with the grip on grass being slightly better than the grip on wet rock. The crosslite is the ideal shoe for the Bob Graham, longer days out, or for the person who wants to really protect their feet and not give them a good battering.
