Dachstein Mitt

£22.00 to £23.00

These Boiled wool mitts have become a legend in climbing circles .They kept Shackleton's crew warm on their extended stay in Antartica. Maurise Hretzog used them on the first ascent of an 8000m peak. These humble gloves have been around the world twice over. They have great grip on rock plus they last much longer than their synthetic counterparts. They also hold their warmth much longer than synthetic types and will keep your fingers warm even when they are iced up to the hilt. Once they are "worn in" very few other gloves will match them in comfort and warmth in the wet cold UK winter.

Geoff @ Lakes Climber & Runner says: these mitts are super toasty! They might look like something your Gran would use to keep her teapot warm, but don't be fooled by their old-school stylings, these babies are just as adept at keeping your digits cosy as their more expensive synthetic brethren. After a few wears they soften up a treat and slipping them on is like your donning your favourite pair of slippers. Even when wet or iced up they still perform. So, whether you're belaying in an icy Scottish corrie or piling on the winter training runs on the high fells, the ol' Dachsteins are a must.
